I went for the ramen — you know, because it’s comforting, familiar, and especially satisfying when you want something warm and filling. Kenji Tei’s ramen has a lighter flavor profile compared to “authentic Japanese-winter ramen,” which works well for Manila’s climate. The broth was gentle but flavorful, and the noodles had a nice chew. For me it hit that balance: comforting warmth without feeling too heavy. Sushi / Maki We tried their maki (the crunchy maki / makimono offerings got decent feedback) — and I enjoyed the texture and freshness. Service & overall value Staff were friendly and attentive. Water refills and accompaniment were prompt, which made the meal more relaxing. For the price range, the food felt reasonably good — not high-end Japanese omakase, but a solid comfort-food spot with Japanese flavors without breaking the budget. What I liked most It’s a dependable go-to when you want Japanese food without fuss — ramen, maki, donburi, maybe some tempura or hot plate. Convenient location (inside a mall), easy parking, and a quiet vibe on non-peak times. Balanced flavors — especially the ramen — good for people who want a “safe” but satisfying Japanese meal in Metro Manila. Versatile menu: whether you’re craving noodles, sushi, rice bowls or something lighter, there’s variety. What could be better / What to watch out for If you go during rush hours or weekends, it might get busier — scheduling around off-peak times gives a better, calmer experience. Who should go, and when If you’re: - looking for a casual and reliable Japanese meal in the south of Metro Manila; - craving ramen, sushi or Japanese comfort food, but don’t need “fancy, high-end”; - with friends or family and want a comfortable, fuss-free dining experience, Then Kenji Tei — especially the Alabang Town Center branch — is a solid pick. It’s no gourmet gem, but it delivers value, convenience, and dependable flavor. If I were you — I’d go back for ramen + maki combo on a weekday evening: relaxed, tasty, and no stress.

This Japanese restaurant was one of my favorite restaurant we frequently visited years ago. I always ordered their crunchy kani. The food is still good quickly served, the staff were nice and attentive. The ice coffee was surprisingly well made. Also noticed fewer people eat here now, unlike before when more people used to go to the nearby cinemas. Went here on a Saturday around Lunch time. Prices of food ordered: Crunchy kani Php395, Yakinikudon Php400, Ice Coffee Php95. Wala din po pala service charge yung bill upon checking the receipt. God bless Kenji Tei Alabang.

I tried their new Tantanmen. Would definitely go back and order that again. I also loved the Spicy Tuna maki, and am highly recommending if you wanna eat here. MJ the waitress also had one of the most contagious smiles out there! She was such a pleasure to talk to
